Getting StartedIntroduction

What is OwnSync Note?

OwnSync Note is a privacy-first, rich-text note-taking web app. It runs entirely in your browser — no account required to start writing. Notes live in your browser's localStorage by default and are never sent to our servers.

When you're ready, you can connect your Google Drive and sync your notes to your own cloud storage. You stay in full control of your data.

Local-first storage

Every note you create is written instantly to localStorage on your device. There is no round-trip to a server on every keystroke. If you go offline, OwnSync Note keeps working. When you reconnect (and have Drive sync enabled), your changes are pushed to your Google Drive automatically.

Because notes are stored locally, they are tied to the browser you use. Use Google Drive sync to access your notes from multiple devices.

Who it's for

OwnSync Note is built for indie hackers, developers, and productivity-minded people who want a fast, clutter-free note editor that respects their privacy. If you've ever worried about a cloud service reading your notes — this app is for you.
